The Yorkshire Ripper has been allowed out of maximum security Broadmoor Hospital where he is serving a life sentence.
Peter Sutcliffe, 69, was spotted strolling in the sunshine on a rare outing during 34 years behind bars.
Dressed in a beige anorak, red trousers and black baseball cap, the serial killer was on a visit to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.
Shockingly Sutcliffe was not handcuffed, but chatted and joked with security guards.
It is understood he had an appointment at the hospital’s eye clinic in connection with his
failing eyesight.

He has previously been treated at Frimley Park when he was stabbed in both eyes in an attack by another inmate. A witness who saw the mass killer said: “I was shocked.”
Sutcliffe was convicted at the Old Bailey in 1981 of the murders of 13 women. He was sentenced to serve a minimum of 30 years in prison.
In 1997 he suffered serious damage to his eyes when he was attacked with a pen by fellow patient Ian Kay. Afterwards he was rushed by ambulance from the Berkshire secure hospital to the eye unit.
Sutcliffe had regularly used prostitutes in Leeds and Bradford and claimed the voice of God had sent him on a mission to kill.
At his trial he pleaded not guilty on grounds of diminished responsibility but was convicted
